September 29: Teen Crafternoons. Tuesdays = your creative time. Hang out and make cool stuff. No sign-up, no stress. Just show up and create something awesome! This week: Build Kit Instruments - choose a mini block kit to build tiny musical instruments before International Music Day! 3:30 - 4:30 PM in the 2nd Floor Teen Space. Intended for ages 13 - 19.  

September 29: Teen Universal Yums. Ready to snack your way around the world? Each month, teens can explore a different country through its unique treats, fun trivia, and music from that culture. It’s a flavorful, interactive experience you won’t want to miss! 4:30 - 5:30 PM in the 2nd Floor Teen Space. Intended for ages 13 - 19. 

September 29: Wee Wigglers Story Time. Join us for action rhymes, stories, and songs for children ages 5 and under - Tuesdays at 10:00 AM in the Program Room. 

September 30: Card Club. Join us the last Wednesday of the month to learn and play a variety of card games! Fun for all skill levels. No gambling, just games and good times. From Uno to Blackjack, Poker to Slapjack, there’s something for everyone. 5:00 – 6:00 PM in the Howard Rutan Meeting Room.  

September 30: Teen Writing Club. We’ve got writing prompts and games to spark your imagination and snacks* to fuel your mind! *While supplies last. Come write, chill, and connect with other teen writers. No pressure, just good vibes, cool ideas, and a space to be creative. Wednesdays, 3:30 - 4:30 PM in the 2nd Floor Teen Space.

October 3: The Music Tells Our Stories: Latines in Illinois and the USA. Join Cataline Maria Johnson, Ph. D. for a broad overview of milestones from the last several centuries of music in the Latine U.S. as a way of understanding the history, roots, and concerns of Latines in this land, with a special emphasis on Latine populations that have profoundly marked the state of Illinois’ culture and music. Made possible through a partnership with Illinois Humanities. 2:00 – 3:00 PM in the Howard Rutan Meeting Room. 

October 3: Senior Social Hour. Seniors, join us on the first Saturday of every month, for a chance to have coffee and play games together. 9:00 – 10:00 AM in the Program Room.
